Illinois COVID 19 Response Funds (ICRF)

NICIL has been awarded as a recipient of a small amount of funds to use for distribution as part of the Illinois COVID 19 Response Funds (ICRF).  The target audience for this distribution is for individuals with disabilities to support gaps in needs due specifically to COVID 19.

Individuals or their families may apply for these funds from July 1, 2020 until August 13, 2020.  The funds are for unmet needs caused by the COVID 19 and for no other reason.  Funds do not go to the individual or their families but directly to the vendor or organization. This is a one-time only application and funding.  Details and application can be found on the NICIL website at www.nicil.org.  Interest applicants may also call the NICIL office at 815-625-7860 or via email at frontdesk@nicil.org

NICIL offices are masks are required for all in office visits.  Call or email and the application will be mailed or emailed to you.  Funds are limited to qualified individuals or their families.  There is NO cash distribution directly to the individuals.

This funds are part of the Chicago Community Trust that has raised these funds for this purpose.  NICIL is part of the Illinois Network for Centers for Independent Living (INCIL) who is the funding partner for this process.  We look forward to working with you on this rare opportunity.

Elected Officials

Elected officials are people who are voted on and chosen by the people.  These people, also know as legislators, are members of the senate and house of representatives.  The job of  legislators, is to speak up for and ignite necessary changes in your community.  Contacting your legislators is a great way to advocate for the changes you feel are needed.   Would you like to speak with one of these legislators?  Click the following link for contact information on all legislators, federal and state, representing Carroll, JoDaviess, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside Counties.

Action for Advocacy

The budget impasse for Fiscal Year 2015 and 2016 is over!  While it was incredibly painful, for now it is over!  We at NICIL want to move onto a more positive future, but Advocacy is still important!  For the NICIL area of:  Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties these are our current elected officials:

As you know, the next election is soon!  Tuesday, November 6, 2018 is your chance to have your voice heard through your vote.  Get out and vote!!!  Use your right to vote to be hear and elect the legislators and Governor that you want running Illinois for our future!  Be informed and do your homework, but vote!

The nightmare continues with no one getting the job done!  We have reached out to all of the NICIL area elected officials and the Governor and yet, nothing is settled!  Illinois is the joke of the nation and we as it citizens are barely hanging onto our services!  Enough is Enough!  Call your legislators today and tell them to do their jobs now!
